Abstrak:
ABSTRACT Fruit is one of important offered component to God for Hindu religion. Even though the Balinese fruit quantity met the needs of the fruit demand for the ceremonial Hindu demand, the uses of imported fruit tend be increasing. A cross-community study of 51 motherhood in Pemecutan village, Denpasar Barat District of Denpasar Regency, demonstrated that there were four kinds of fruits (local banana, imported apple, imported mandarin, and local mandarin) as the dominant fruits based on their high frequency and quantity for Hindu ceremony. Furthermore, while the prices of imported fruits were high, the quantity used of banana was the highest. Additionally, the most favorable place for buying fruits was traditional market, because from socio culture point of view, respondents tend to feel equal each other and interactive activity was an other reason why they chose it.
